ArchiveSocial, Monsido and NextRequest Become Optimere

The new company, the product of the recent mergers of the three firms, plans expansion and a hiring binge. The move reflects increased activity in the public records and communications space of the gov tech industry.

Say hello to Optimere, the newest presence in the public records and archives space.

According to a statement, government technology providers ArchiveSocial, Monsido and NextRequest have completed their merger and formed Optimere, described by the companies as “the most comprehensive platform for public sector and regulated communicators to address their ever-increasing compliance requirements.”

Based in North Carolina, ArchiveSocial focuses on helping public agencies store social media posts. Earlier this year it announced its merger with Monsido, a firm based in Denmark that measures website performance and compliance.

Just a few months before that, ArchiveSocial said it was buying NextRequest, a California operation whose technology is designed to help public agencies fulfill public records requests. That deal was the first acquisition for ArchiveSocial. (The parent company of Government Technology, e.Republic, is a former investor in ArchiveSocial through its venture capital arm.)

Those three companies have retained their names but now operate under the Optimere brand.

The completed merger comes amid an ongoing increase of M&A and investment activity in the broader government technology space, a trend bolstered by an increase in digital services during the pandemic. The merger also takes place as public officials work to deal with the public records and compliance implications of new technologies, as well as increases in requests for public records.

The new unified company will have annualized revenue of more than $30 million and plans to hire 150 employees in fiscal year 2022, including 100 positions based in the U.S., according to the statement.

Optimere also has operations in Australia, Denmark and the United Kingdom, and has some 6,000 customers total, according to the statement.

During the past year, the gov tech operation has added 1,400 customers and 120 employees.

“Building trust is imperative for every organization across the globe, but for too long digital communication has compromised trust with unreliable content,” said Ray Carey, CEO of Optimere, in the statement. “Our mission at Optimere is to provide organizations with a roadmap to make it easier to comply with regulations and standards that will ultimately enhance trust in their critical communications.”
