Cartegraph, a GovTech 100 firm offering SaaS solutions that help local government agencies manage their physical assets and operations, has acquired a leading provider of facility management and space planning software.

The move pairs Cartegraph's asset, work and resource management solutions with PenBay Solutions’ geographic information systems (GIS) technology for facility management. The acquisition joins the two forces to help private and public organizations better manage and maintain their operations and infrastructure.

“We joined forces with Cartegraph because it is hands-down the best operations and maintenance platform on the market," Bill Barron, Cartegraph managing director of buildings and infrastructure and former CEO of PenBay Solutions, said in a statement. “It was important to us to team up with a company who shared our location-centric and customer success-focused DNA. By bringing these teams and solutions together, we’re creating a powerful platform that empowers infrastructure owners to drive high-performance operations of their mission-critical assets.”

Cartegraph technologies are built on Esri technology, which offers GIS software, location intelligence, mapping and geospatial cloud. Local government agencies and other institutions can utilize the Esri-powered platform to leverage location as the unifying data point to help manage operations. PenBay Solutions is also an Esri partner.

“We have been working with the PenBay team in this area for many years and are excited about how Cartegraph, also a long-standing strategic partner, will be able to bring new capabilities to our Esri customers through the combination of Cartegraph and ArcGIS Indoors,” Robert Laudati, director of global partners and alliances at Esri, said in a statement.
