In what may be one of the most cleverly named public-sector app launches to date, the Missouri Department of Conservation (DOC) has gifted the fishing public with Find MO Fish. Offered for Android, iOS and BlackBerry, the free app provides a map of the Show Me State with public boat ramp locations to major waterways.
"With the geo-location feature, you can guide your boat right up to your favorite fish attractor and start fishing," according to the app description.

A handy fish guide helps the inexperienced distinguish between a Common Carp and a Golden Redhorse. Users can also hone in on fish locations with hot spot maps featuring DOC data on habitats for different species. Originally launched in 2011, recent updates have successfully reeled in thousands of downloads.
