NASCIO Highlights: Midyear Conference 2011

May 10, 2011 By

At the 2011 National Association of State Chief Information Officers' (NASCIO) Midyear Conference held last week in Washington, D.C., CIOs discussed such topics as the importance of understanding the perspectives of our nation’s governors, legislators and budget officers; how tools can assist states in meeting their financial challenges, with federal and state examples of how to utilize a dashboard to track project progress, aid in course correction and possible project elimination; and reactions to the Affordable Care Act, to name just a few.

The NASCIO Midyear Conference drew more than 400 people to Washington, D.C. -- record attendance for the event. Representatives from 42 states were onsite, including a number of newly appointed state CIOs.
