SeamlessDocs has created a chief success officer position to increase customers’ use and expansion of the company’s tools, and the first person to fill the role is former Accela Senior Vice President Angela Langston.

Langston joins SeamlessDocs after nearly 20 years at Accela, where she established the company’s customer success and account management divisions, according to Accela’s website. She then rose to the role of senior vice president of customer care and delivery.

She left Accela late last year, and then this year Accela’s CEO, Ed Daihl, announced he was stepping down from his role for personal reasons. It’s been a time of change for the company, since Daihl served in the role for a little more than a year and led Accela during its sale to a private equity company.

Though Accela and SeamlessDocs both focus on government back-office processes, they target different niches. Accela’s core has always been in permitting and land use, while SeamlessDocs got its start automating forms. Lately, SeamlessDocs has pushed more into service delivery and citizen relationship management.

At SeamlessDocs, Langston’s main duties will be to oversee functions such as customer on-boarding and renewals, support and managed services.

“Through her domain experience, product knowledge and thought leadership she’ll bring the necessary expertise to our team that’ll enable our platform to be delivered and supported through best practices, packaged solutions, and managed services,” said Jonathan Ende, the company’s CEO, in a press release. “Having her lead our success functions of account management, services and support will create a synergy that results in consistent, collaborative and cohesive engagements.”
