How Fiscally Imperiled is Your State?

While economists are optimistic that America's economic troubles may have turned the corner, many states have yet to begin experiencing any relief. Beyond California: States in Fiscal Peril -- a report by the Pew Center on the States -- says that "California's fiscal problems are in a league of their own" and goes on to analyze the fiscal troubles of nine other states in an attempt to help understand why some states are suffering more acutely from the nation's economic crisis than others -- and which may have the toughest time regaining their footing.
