The public cloud service market is rapidly expanding and creating change in the way people are doing business.
According to a new infographic, titled From Cloud to Thunderstorm developed by NowSourcing, the cloud service industry is expected to grow to $131 billion this year, but growth won’t stop there. By 2014, the market is expected to jump to $155 billion.
Subscribing to cloud services like applications changes the dynamic of doing business since the cost to own apps can be more expensive. According to the infographic, owning new editions of applications can range from $200 to $2,000, whereas subscribing to a suite of apps may cost a maximum of $70 a month.
The use of public cloud services can create opportunities for the workforce to use personal devices for work-related tasks, and in turn, open up opportunities to increase teleworking and work productivity.
