Arlington, Va., Accepts 2011 Digital Counties Award

Recognizes outstanding examples of counties using information and communications technology.

Arlington County Va.,  -- third-place finisher in the 2011 Digital Counties Survey  -- received its award in a special presentation recently.

"We are proud to have won the award and to have our staff recognized for their Herculean efforts in the Board meeting by our County Manager," said Marybeth Majka, Arlington County Strategy and Portfolio Management, Department of Technology Services.

The survey -- which recognizes outstanding examples of counties using information and communications technology -- is conducted each year by e.Republic’s Center for Digital Government and Digital Communities program, in partnership with the National Association of Counties (NACo). The award was presented by Dan Gillison, a representative of Sprint, one of this year's survey underwriters.
