Collaboration, mobility, digitization will shape public sector in next few years, says Gates

Attend a Microsoft conference and the issue of security is bound to come up. So it was no surprise when Microsoft Chairman and Chief Software Architect Bill Gates fielded his first question before an audience of government officials from North and South America on the topic of security and online safety.

"It's a top priority," said Gates, who was attending the Microsoft Government Leaders Forum yesterday in Tysons Corner, Va. He pointed out that 30 percent of Microsoft's R&D is directed toward this area of computing.
