Hillsborough County, Fla., is piloting a project that uses the Waze traffic app to repair potholes before citizens complain. Corey McGonigle, IT program manager for the county Public Works Department, says the county monitors road hazard data from the crowd-sourced traffic app, and sends inspectors to locations where potholes are reported. In this interview from the Orlando Special Districts Summit, McGonigle talks about results from the current pilot and how the county may use Waze data in the future.
