Search Nebraska's Court Records at www.Nebraska.gov

Any citizen with a credit card can access court record information on the Internet 24 hours a day and seven days a week.

Are you worried about the backgrounds of the people working at your child's daycare center, the people you hire, the people living in your neighborhood, or whom your son or daughter is dating? With a new online service offered by the state of Nebraska's official Web site (www.Nebraska.gov), more than 7.1 million state court case records are now accessible with a single mouse click.
Nebraska's Court Case One Time Search service provides online access to court case records in all 93 county courts and 92 of the state's 93 district courts (excluding the district court in Douglas County). The service was launched through a collaborative effort between the Nebraska Office of the State Court Administrator and Nebraska.gov.

The Nebraska Office of the State Court Administrator introduced a service in 2005 that provided fast and easy online access to court records for Nebraska.gov's high-volume subscribers. Prior to the introduction of the JUSTICE subscription search service, users wanting to access court records had to know what specific county or district court they needed to search. Requestors would then be forced either to call, email, or visit the courthouse to request this information. Even after requesting a court record via phone or email, an immediate response was not guaranteed.
Nebraska's justice system now processes approximately 62,000 county court record requests per month. With the addition of the One Time Search service, ease and convenience have been expanded and now any citizen with a credit card can access court record information on the Internet 24 hours a day and seven days a week.

"One time court searches make accessing state court records more available for the general population," said State Court Administrator Janice K. Walker. "We are very pleased to add this online service for Nebraska citizens."

With the new system, users can access all public information about a court case, including:

  • Case Detail, such as the date and outcome of the trial, what the case was about, and the name of the presiding judge;
  • Party Listing, including the names of plaintiffs, defendants, and associated attorneys (when available);
  • Court Cost Information, including all fees associated with the case;
  • Payments made by and to the court; and
  • Register of Actions, including all actions prior to, during, and after the case is included (when available).
All users need is a Visa or MasterCard and the first and last name of the person to be searched. Users can also narrow down their search results using middle initial, date of birth, county, case type, and year.
