City of Toledo, Oh., Offers New Electronic Tax Payment Options

All major credit cards accepted.

Citizens of Toledo, Oh., can now make credit and debit card payments for income, estimated and withholding taxes online., or by calling 1-800-2PAY-TAX thanks to an agreement the city made with Official Payments Corp.

City of Toledo taxpayers may now make income, estimated and withholding tax payments electronically by using a VISA, American Express, Discover or MasterCard. The system is now accepting estimated withholding tax payments that are due July 31st. As July 31st falls on a Saturday this year, these payments will be accepted through August 2nd, the next business day. The city of Toledo's jurisdiction code, required for telephone payments, is 4539.

This service will provide Toledo taxpayers with a secure electronic credit and debit card tax payment option to pay taxes via the Internet or over the phone.

"Consistent with our mission of providing our citizens with responsive and user friendly tax services, we are pleased to provide Toledo with this secure electronic credit and debit card tax payment option," said Thomas S. Crothers, acting director, City of Toledo Department of Finance.

Official Payments charges users a convenience fee for the service; however, debit cards with bonus rewards programs may, depending on their card's program, earn reward points, airline frequent flyer miles or cash back for paying their taxes and fees.
