Former South Carolina CIO Joins AMS' Office of Digital Government and Technology

Matthew DeZee will work alongside Steve Kolodney.

FAIRFAX, Va. -- American Management Systems announced that Matthew DeZee, formerly South Carolina's first CIO and chairman of the security team at the National Association of State CIOs (NASCIO), has joined AMS's Office of Digital Government and Technology.

DeZee joins Steve Kolodney, vice president and director of the Office of Digital Government and Technology, and former Washington CIO.

"Through Matt's leadership, AMS will partner with all levels of government to meet the demands of an information age society, " said Kolodney.

AMS' Office of Digital Government and Technology is currently involved in projects at all levels of government and provides subject matter expertise for projects with preeminent organizations such as the NASCIO, the Council for Excellence in Government, and the Harvard Policy Group.

Immediately preceding AMS, DeZee was responsible for South Carolina's strategic technology planning, IT procurement and identifying information technologies to improve delivery of services by state agencies. Prior to his role in South Carolina, DeZee spent two years as director of computing and global telecommunications operations for the Central Intelligence Agency.

At the CIA, he merged the computing infrastructure office with the foreign-based communications office into the single largest component in the agency. The office was responsible for global networks, central computing services, consolidated data centers, and the strategic use of future technologies as they apply to the intelligence mission.
