McCain Introduces Cell Phone Tax Moratorium Act

"Many municipalities tax wireless services at rates two to three times higher than sales taxes."

Joined by Senators Jim DeMint, John Sununu and Gordon Smith, Senator McCain last week introduced the Cell Phone Tax Moratorium Act of 2007. This bill would place a three-year moratorium on new and discriminatory taxes on cell phone services, since many municipalities tax wireless services at rates two to three times higher than sales taxes.
