Michigan Governor Begins Weekly Podcast

August 15, 2005 By

On August 5th, Michigan Governor Jennifer M. Granholm began her new weekly radio address.

In a press release, Granholm also noted that her office is using podcasting to deliver the address each week.

"Podcasting is growing in popularity among young adults and this is a way to engage young people's interest in the information that ultimately could affect their world," Granholm said.

The podcast is available on the Governor's website on Mondays for general distribution to personal MP3 players and home computers.

The Governor's weekly address will be released each Friday at 10:00 a.m. and may be heard on broadcast stations across the state through an affiliation with the Michigan Association of Broadcasters (MAB).

Podcast Feed

*Podcasting is a method of publishing audio broadcasts via the Internet, allowing users to subscribe to a feed of new files (usually MP3s). It became popular in late 2004, largely due to automatic downloading audio onto portable players or personal computers -- Wikipedia.
