NASCIO Releases Brief on the Role of Public-Private Sector Collaboration

The National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO), which represents the chief information officers (CIOs) of the states, released its brief Keys to Collaboration: Building Effective Public-Private Partnerships, which explores the role of public-private partnerships in the increasingly technology-driven public sector.

The brief, developed by NASCIO's Corporate Leadership Council (CLC), defines different types of public-private partnerships and provides a look at best practices and building blocks for successful public-private partnerships.

"Technology acts not only as the enabler to create better, faster service to citizens, it also acts as a facilitator between public and private partnerships," said NASCIO's CLC Vice Chair, Rick Webb, of Accenture, in a release. "And public-private partnerships have become increasingly important as citizen expectations continue to rise and they demand more and better government services at lower costs."
