South Carolina's CIO Stepping Down

Matthew DeZee also led the NASCIO's Security and Reliability team.

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Matthew DeZee, CIO of South Carolina, has resigned his post effective Sept. 30.

In addition to his work in South Carolina, DeZee had been leading the National Association of State Chief Information Officers' Security and Reliability team since early this year.

As leader of the team, DeZee oversaw the successful, national release of "Public-Sector Information Security: A Call to Action for Public-Sector CIOs," a report written by Don Heiman, former CIO of Kansas, that was produced jointly with the PricewaterhouseCoopers Endowment for the Business of Government.

He will be taking a position with AMS's Public Sector Digital Government Solutions division beginning October 7, 2002.
