Plans Shift into High Gear for NASCIO Annual Conference

Conference sessions will focus on consolidation, the greening government, enterprise IT security, data driven leadership and more.

NASCIO's 2008 Annual Conference is only a few days away and plans are gearing up for an exciting event. Representatives from 46 states including 41 state CIOs are expected to attend the conference which will be held September 21-24 at the Hyatt Regency in Milwaukee, Wis.

The agenda, organized around the theme A Focus on the Enterprise: Driving Efficiency and Innovation, will kick off with a keynote address by Thomas Ridge, former governor of Pennsylvania and first secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. Tuesday's agenda begins with remarks from Dr. Kathleen Hall Jamieson about handling difficult press situations. Conference sessions will focus on consolidation, the greening government, enterprise IT security, data driven leadership and more. NASCIO's Corporate Leadership Council (CLC), which represents all corporate members, will gather prior to the Annual Conference on Sunday, September 21 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm CT at the Hyatt Regency in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The meeting will take place in the Lakeshore Ballroom on the first floor. NASCIO invites all corporate members registered for the Annual Conference to join us for lunch and to hear our guest speaker Theresa Pardo, deputy director of the Center for Technology in Government at the University of Albany.

NASCIO is pleased to announce the newly elected Corporate Leadership Council (CLC) officers for the 2008-2009 program year. The incoming Chair will be Aldona Valicenti, Oracle and the Vice Chair will be Peter Berkel, EMC. The CLC represents all of NASCIO's corporate members and the chair holds an advisory seat on NASCIO's Executive Committee. Note: The first CLC call of the new program year is October 15, 2008 from 4:00-5:00pm Eastern Time.
