(TNS) — Shippensburg University and California University of Pennsylvania signed a letter of agreement on May 20 to combine resources to offer a concentration in cybersecurity to meet the workforce needs in south-central Pennsylvania.

"This exciting collaboration with our sister institution allows us to offer a new concentration that meets a growing demand in the commonwealth," said Dr. George F. "Jody" Harpster Jr., the university's president.

The cybersecurity concentration within the master of science in computer science program will begin this fall.

The concentration consists of four courses, three of which will be taught online through California's professional science master's cybersecurity program.

Shippensburg also will offer a new concentration in management information systems (MIS) this fall, which includes courses offered through Shippensburg's John L. Grove College of Business.

The master of science in computer science degree offers software engineering and IT leadership concentrations.
