Open Education Week 2015 Celebrates Free Access to Education Materials

The week of March 9 is dedicated to celebrating the sharing of education made possible by modern technology.

March 9 through March 13 is Open Education Week -- a week dedicated to the celebration of free, openly licensed and accessible education materials, such as those found in many online courses and in new physically based education models.

Coordinated by The Open Education Consortium, Twitter fans from around the world are sharing their thoughts on open education and new opportunities in scholastics made available by modern education.

Using the hashtag #openeducationwk, here’s what some involved entities are sharing:

Open Education Week coordinators are also featuring events around the world, both physically and online. From Peru to Poland, educators, students, scientists and technologists will meet to discuss and learn about topics surrounding the burgeoning world of open education.
