FEMA Monitors Severe Weather Across The Nation

FEMA is closely monitoring a strong line of severe thunderstorms which has spawned dozens of tornadoes extending from the Upper Mississippi Valley and Great Lakes to the Gulf Coast area.

Region V

FEMA Region V Regional Response Coordination Center (RRCC) is activated. A FEMA liaison officer has been pre-identified and prepared to respond if needed.


Region VI
FEMA Region VI is in constant communication with Texas and Arkansas State Emergency Management. A FEMA liaison has been deployed to the Arkansas Emergency Operation Center and the RRCC has been activated to support efforts.


Region VII
FEMA Region VII is in communication with the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency to coordinate and assist as requested.
Maine
FEMA continues to coordinate with the state of Maine, which was impacted by rising flood waters earlier this week. The state has requested Joint Preliminary Damage Assessments (PDAs) for Individual Assistance and Public Assistance.
Virginia
Joint PDAs teams completed assessments of the most heavily damaged areas in the City of Suffolk on May 1st. More teams are assessing less damaged areas in other localities. The Virginia Emergency Operation
