California Wine Country Fires

Stretching FEMA's capabilities.

Sometimes when "structures" are lost in fires, they are remote cabins and other "outbuildings" associated with living in the country or woods. In this case, the fires are taking out entire subdivisions, see Flames Engulf California Wine Country.

This is now the fourth significant disaster that FEMA is having to deal with in a two-month time period. FEMA employees will be getting more air miles being shifted from one coast to the other in order to respond. As noted in earlier blog posts, IEM has certainly hit the nail on the head and taken advantage of a huge need by FEMA to augment their staff and capabilities.

So far we've had wind, flooding, earthquake in Mexico, and fires — what's next? Nuclear war?
