Cascadia Earthquake Documentary

This documentary is heavy on the science of a Cascadia Subduction Earthquake.

Friday night I was perusing the movie offerings on Amazon Prime TV and found Shockwave: Surviving North America's Biggest Disaster.

The subtitle is "America's Biggest Disaster." Much of the movie is centered on the science that went into finding Cascadia Fault and what the impacts might be from that rupture of the Earth's crust and subsequent tsunami on the West Coast of the United States. I learned a few things from watching it, and there were some eyewitness accounts from the 1964 Alaskan Earthquake and tsunami impacts to Crescent City, Calif.

It was just a couple of days ago that I blogged on the Earthquake Recovery Tabletop Exercise we are doing here in the Seattle Metro area on March 21. There is still time and space available for critical infrastructure owners and operators to register and attend!
