Disasters Mean 'All Hands on Deck'

Governments at all levels respond when there is a disaster.

This just in, "The Pew Charitable Trusts is embarking on a new line of work, examining government spending in response to natural disasters. In a first look at this topic, today Pew released a case study on the federal and state responses following Hurricane Matthew last year. Today’s release focuses on activities in North Carolina." See their first installment, When Disaster Strikes, Governments Put All Hands on Deck.

We definitely need more research and details on the cost of disasters and how they impact our states and local communities. Having Pew put their resources to this task is a good sign of things to come.

Sarah Leiseca from Pew shared the information above.
