FEMA Reimbursements Still Pending for Florida

Speed is not what FEMA is known for.

FEMA reimbursement of state and local governments is not known for being fast. To think that in less than a year, you would have those funds processed and checks cut — might be a bit idealistic. See Florida Keys Waiting for Millions in FEMA Money After Irma — and Hurricane Season Is Near.

Remember, these payments have to go through the state of Florida's Emergency Management Office, and I recall that they were cited in 2017 as having significant problems and a backlog on their end for doing their share of the recovery paperwork required by federal and state laws.
