HAZMAT Lessons From Hurricane Harvey

Document the issues, and then work on them.

I've written often about how we are very good at establishing "Lessons Observed" following emergencies and disasters, with little corrective action being taken afterward. This NPR story, Industrial Safety After Hurricane Harvey, takes a different tact by showing what can be accomplished when a private company documents "Lessons Learned" and then acts on those findings to take corrective action.

And remember, this is a "for profit" entity that is being attentive to their responsibilities and investing in disaster resilience--long term.
