Disasters are part of the political commentary of the day.

As emergency managers, we are always trying to capture people's attention to the issue of disasters and becoming prepared, mitigating before they happen, responding quickly and efficiently, and, lastly — recovering as fast as possible, hopefully becoming more resilient in the process.
