Local government IT leaders in Central Texas have gathered together with the leadership of Government Technology’s Digital Communities program for the past four years to discuss timely topics of interest for their organizations. The purpose of the Central Texas Regional CIO meeting is to provide a forum for collaboration and mutual support to Chief Information Officers and their staffs so that they can more effectively meet the IT needs of their government agencies and stakeholders.

Getting MobileLocal government organizations have been going mobile for many years and this is part and parcel of how services are provided in almost every jurisdiction. A relevant question now is – are we “getting” mobile rather than are we “going” mobile. In other words, how are we providing access anywhere anytime to our work force and our residents, citizens, students, and customers? Are they consuming these services as we expected? Are we staying secure, relevant, and effective as we continue to modernize and mobilize our systems? This panel will provide a perspective and you, the audience, will have the chance to weigh in! Sedrick Cole, IT Director, Missouri City Terri Duncan, Information Security Officer, Department of Transportation, State of Texas Bryan Lane, Assistant Director/Chief Information Officer, Department of Public Safety, State of Texas |
