Following a successful business career Cliff joined Columbia University's Graduate School of Business faculty as the Entrepreneur in Residence. In addition to teaching Launching New Ventures, he serves as faculty advisor to the Eugene M. Lang Investment Fund. In the spring of 2005, he was awarded the Distinguished Service Award for his contribution to the study of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Columbia and in 2007 he received the Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence.
During the early 90's he worked in Russia on behalf of the United Nations to assist in the privatization process by helping to identify entrepreneurial opportunities that would assist in the development of the "new economy."
