"The Hawaii Digital Government Summit is a forum for excellence that gathers stakeholders from across the State of Hawaii to communicate and further the progress we have made towards the vision of a smart, safe and connected Hawaii. As we enable our government to be more responsive to our public employees and citizens, the summit gives us the opportunity to demonstrate and explore how technology as critical infrastructure within our state helps us identify and apply business solutions and realize positive and measurable improvements to our service levels and quality of life."

– Keone Kali, Chief Information Officer, State of Hawaii

Hawaii Digital Government Summit 2014

Overview

Government Technology’s passion is helping spread best practices and spurring innovation in the public sector. The Hawaii Digital Government Summit is designed to do just that. The summit has an advisory board that gathers public- and private-sector leaders to create an agenda designed to make that passion relevant and actionable to the state and local government organizations attending the summit. Participants tell us they use the inspirational keynotes, leadership discussions, networking breaks, and the timely topics discussed in the numerous breakout sessions to help advance the goals of their organizations.

If you influence or participate in technology decisions or implementations at any level, you will want to attend.  Don't miss this opportunity to see the latest in digital government solutions, keep abreast of current policy issues, and network with key government executives, technologists and industry specialists.

Anthony Huey headshotCommunicating the Right Way - It's Not Just What You Say, It's How You Say It

Anthony Huey, Owner, Reputation Management Associates

Communication skills are constantly being judged by others, often subconsciously. How you communicate in everything from casual conversations to formal presentations can be the difference between success and failure. Don’t miss what is often your only opportunity to connect and leave a lasting impression. Learn to think quickly, take control, and effectively communicate your message to a wide variety of audiences including customers, vendors, internal staff, boards, management, community partners, the news media, and even elected officials.

Lunch Keynote:

Don McMillan headshotThe Funny Side of IT

Don McMillan, Engineer/Comedian

Don McMillan worked for many years in IT systems development and saw the humor in technology. He is here to show us how to take a positive outlook and find humor in both the change and the routine of our jobs. He will inspire us to question if we do things because “that is how it has always been done” or because it’s the right thing. Don will get us to laugh at ourselves and enjoy our jobs. After all, when we enjoy our jobs, we are better at them. Sit back, relax, and laugh.
