Description:
Is the Web dead? Long live the internet! The Web was born over two decades ago and has been a source of societal change and technological upheaval. Without a crystal ball, the future remains enigmatic but there are interesting signs that can help reveal a path. Many experts expect that Apps and the Web will converge in the cloud. Some experts feel that the browser will eventually give way to the app and never the twain shall meet. Others are building robust HTML5 sites for all mobile devices since standards are otherwise fleeting. Augmented reality, the internet of things (sensors in or on everything), the transcendent web and other topics all fit into this crystal ball session that will try to give some sense of where we are headed and what that means for digital government initiatives.
