The V7 NAV740 GPS portable navigation device has a touchscreen enabled with turn-by-turn voice instruction, including text-to-speech. It weighs 6.65 ounces, measures 4.92 x3.28x0.79 inches and has a 4.3-inch 480x272 high-resolution TFT-LCD.

The device's battery lasts up to five hours, or 3.5 hours with GPS navigation on. It contains 64 MB RAM, a 400 MHz CPU and a built-in multimedia player that supports most audio, video and digital picture formats.

Royal Philips Electronics' Digital Pocket Memo 9370 records voice files onto an exchangeable 256 MB SD card that users can e-mail or download via USB to a PC for transcription. The recorder includes a backlit LCD, a travel pouch, alkaline batteries, a USB cable, as well as SpeechExec Dictate software. Users can track work in progress, and give urgent jobs priority status for faster transcription. 

 
Keep in Touch
Sprint and HTC Corp. announced Touch, a touchscreen wireless phone with a nearly 3-inch display. It offers e-mail, Web browsing and multimedia content, and a MicroSD card slot that supports up to 4 GB - but a 512 MB card comes with the device. Additional features include a 2.0-megapixel camera/camcorder with up to 5X zoom, advanced stereo Bluetooth and voice-activated dialing. The phone measures 4x2.4x0.6 inches and weighs 4 ounces.

 
Carry On
The Targus EcoSmart convertible messenger/backpack consists of PVC-free material, plastics used on the case are recyclable and all metal hardware is nickel-free. The case includes a padded notebook sleeve with scratch-resistant, quilted lining; a security strap; key hook; pen loops; and accessory pockets. It fits a 15.4-inch laptop computer, and includes pockets for a water bottle and MP3 player. The backpack includes a tuck-away shoulder strap and a removable shoulder strap.
