The caucus will deal with the policy area of reliable, efficient and secure energy.
(TNS) -- U.S. Rep. Bob Latta (R., Bowling Green) and a California Democratic congressman will co-chair the Grid Innovation Caucus, Mr. Latta’s office said.
The caucus will discuss policy related to innovative Smart Grid technology that can reduce power failures and improve the security and reliability of our nation’s electric grid, the congressman said Monday in a prepared statement from his office.
“Cutting-edge Smart Grid technology will mean more reliable, efficient, and secure energy delivered to households and businesses across the country,” said Mr. Latta, a member of the House Energy and Commerce committee.
Joining him in heading the group in this Congress is U.S. Rep. Jerry McNerney.
Smart Grid refers to the use of automation and digital technology to improve efficiency, reliability, and security of the electric grid.
