USAID Purchases GIS Tool

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has purchased Columbus Geographic Systems' SmartView to meet their needs for advanced geographic information system (GIS) capabilities.

USAID is the principal U.S. agency extending assistance to countries recovering from disaster, trying to escape poverty, and engaging in democratic reforms. USAID currently provides economic and humanitarian assistance in more than 100 countries. SmartView will give the agency critical capabilities for a range of advanced GIS analysis of agricultural land and more efficient management of tenders for land distribution projects.

SmartView is a powerful geographical data management software, designed for ease-of-use with maps in a wide range of formats and scales. The software enables users to quickly locate and map points of interest for further analysis, and easily integrates with database-layered maps and geographic elements. Columbus will supply the software as well as provide training to USAID personal to ensure successful implementation.
