I'm going to be working with E-Government Information Officer Chris Matthews from Washoe County, Nevada to put together a discussion on citizen involvement. This is for the next Leadership Reno-Sparks class, focusing on the topic of the role of government on March 10.
It looks like Reno Mayor Bob Cashell, Sparks Mayor Geno Martini and Washoe County Chairman David Humke will also be at the workshop to talk about "What's Hot & What's Not". They'll each get ten minutes to discuss the two most pressing issues affecting their respective jurisdiction, and the vision set forth by their Council/Commission. I'm looking forward to being a fly on the wall!
Leadership Reno-Sparks is a super-involved local leadership program. Expensive to be a participant, but if you're selected you become deeply immersed in the community and government.
