Located at 1200 Pennsylvania Ave, N.W., in Washington, D.C., the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) 5,200-square-foot Emergency Operations Center (EOC) operates during any incident of national significance -- hurricanes, earthquakes, terrorist attacks, major oil spills or chemical releases. The EPA is the federal agency designated to deal with hazardous material under the National Response Plan.
