The National Governors Association, National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) and the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) in response to the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking today submitted official comments and recommendations on Real ID implementation to the Department of Homeland Security.
The organizations point out that they "share the goal of improving the security and integrity of state issued driver's licenses," but the Real ID Act's "draft regulations, however, do not address several major state recommendations designed to ensure successful and cost-effective implementation of the act."
