Nebraska Gets a New Address

May 24, 2002, News Report

Nebraska's official website is getting a new address. Lieutenant Governor Dave Heineman announced yesterday that Nebrask@ Online, the state of Nebraska's official portal, can now be accessed at www.Nebraska.gov. "We want our website to be the first stop for anybody who needs information about Nebraska state government," said Heineman.

"Governor Johanns and I believe that www.Nebraska.gov is an easy-to-remember Web address that clearly reinforces the state of Nebraska's brand identity."

The state's two other Web addresses (www.NOL.org and www.state.ne.us) will also continue to direct users to Nebrask@ Online. To support the name change, a redesign and rebranding of the Nebrask@ Online website is in the works. "Nebraskans deserve the best eGovernment services, and we look forward to working on Nebraska.gov's next-generation website design in the coming months," said Rod Armstrong, General Manager of Nebrask@ Online.

In 2001, the state of Nebraska and Nebrask@ Online received several awards for eGovernment. Nebraska@ Online operates under the direction of the Nebraska State Records Board, which is chaired by Secretary of State John Gale.
