As part of Governor Janet Napolitano's Efficiency Review Initiative, the Arizona has developed an automated online professional and occupational licensing system at several of the state's licensing agencies, boards and commissions.

Built primarily through the Arizona @ Your Service Web Portal, managed by the Government Information Technology Agency, online license renewals are now available to more 70 percent of all Arizona professional and occupational licensees.

"Online licensing increases customer service and improves agency efficiency," said Napolitano. "This program is a great example of agencies using technology to reinvent government."

The state of Arizona has developed a suite of licensing services to meet the requirements of agencies, boards and commissions regardless of size or transaction volumes. This common, enterprise-wide toolset optimizes business functions for Arizona's licensing and regulatory agencies.

Online licensing has improved citizen access to government by offering license renewals 24 hours per day. Approximately 30 percent of online license renewal transactions occur outside of regular business hours.

State agencies, boards and commissions offering online licensing include the Arizona Department of Real Estate, the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, and the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy.
