Anchorage Launches E-911 Efforts

Jan 3, 2003, News Report

Anchorage Mayor George Wuerch announced an E-911 oversight task force to look at the city's existing E-911 efforts to make recommendations and make readily available to the public information about what the city is doing to address the Municipality's system, data and personnel issues.

Wuerch says the group as a whole has the technical expertise, the public credibility and has been given the full authority to address the issue. "This is not a new effort, we've been working hard on this for months and months," said Wuerch. "However, it is a new, critical set of eyes that will give us an unbiased and constructive assessment of all we've been doing."
