The National Institute of Standards and Technology is hosting a symposium that will explore development of standards for modeling and simulation in the Healthcare Emergency Management and Systems environment.

The meeting aims to encourage the development of guidelines and standards for modeling and simulation in the Health Care Emergency Management and Systems environment, identify minimum data requirements for modeling efforts, define the needed interface requirements for the emergency management community and as well as the emergency health care delivery systems in hospitals, establish core protocols for live and computer-based simulation exercises and outcome measures for community and facility scenarios, and to define requirements for accreditation/certification for professionals who deal with healthcare modeling and simulation.

The Modeling and Simulation for Emergency Management and Health Care Systems meeting will take place July 24-25, 2008, at Boston's Metro Meeting Center, 101 Federal Street, Boston, MA 02110. For agenda, hotel, and other information please visit the conference web site.

Please RSVP to Susan O'Hara as soon as possible as we need to balance the domain expertise within the final participants.
