Global CJS,
AC Technology's software solutions division, announced today it was awarded a contract by the
Washington State Office of the Administrator for the Courts (OAC) to create an object design to be used as a roadmap for building a scheduling system and to create a plan with cost, time and resource estimates for building the finished scheduling application for a state-wide Courts Automated Proceedings Sub-system (CAPS).
The CAPS project comes as a result of extensive efforts on the part of the OAC to comprehensively define requirements based on the unified process (an object oriented software development process with extensive user involvement). It was clear the agency needed a contractor who understood the process and could use these highly refined stakeholder needs to design an open standards architecture that allowed for scalability and enterprise-wide access to mission critical data.
For Global CJS, this is an exceptional adaptation of its complete solution model that combines user involvement throughout the development process with the latest web-based development tools, such as XML, Java and iPlanet, that yields a finished product tailored to meet the OACs business process.
"The Global CJS architecture and modeling process is the ideal framework to assist OAC in building a flexible, open environment that allows the delivery of services and data access needed to perform its identified tasks," said Warren Tomek, president of criminal justice operations. "Our superior technical capabilities and competitive pricing presented a compelling case that lead to our selection as the vendor of record over numerous other vendors, including IBM. We look forward to completing this project and moving on to the next phase."
