GITA Director and State Chief Information Officer Chris Cummiskey today announced he is leaving state service concurrent with the resignation of Governor Napolitano expected later in the month.

"I'm proud of the advances Arizona has made in the use of technology to improve government service," said Cummiskey. "Many thanks to Governor Napolitano for her strong leadership and to the amazing staff of GITA for their diligent work to transform the way the state of Arizona does business."

During six years of Cummiskey's leadership, the state and GITA have transformed state government by improving services, enhancing security and privacy and providing thought leadership to innovative projects. Highlights of GITA's accomplishments under Cummiskey include:

• Arizona 2-1-1
• Arizona Health-e Connection Roadmap
• Project Management Certification Program (over 300 project managers certified)
• Online Licensing (over 70 percent of all professional licenses can be renewed online)
• Google Partnership (Sitemap Protocol to improve transparency)
• Statewide Information Security and Privacy Office (ARS 41-3507)
• Security Practitioner Certification
• Broadband Internet Proliferation (www.azgita.gov/telecommunications)
