Nevada State Controller Kim Wallin (pictured), who was the subject of a recent article on XBRL for financial transparency in Government Technology, has co-authored a white paper on the use of XBRL in a state business portal that can streamline information workflow between different state agencies and business entities.
XBRL -- eXtensible Business Reporting Language -- is an XML- based independent, royalty-free standard, which stores data and its relationships in a manner that can be read and processed by computers and software.
