CLEMIS and the Oakland County, Mich., Sheriff's Office Select AFIS

The Oakland County, Mich., Sheriff's Office and CLEMIS signed a contract with Cogent for its first county-wide Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS). The new system will serve the CLEMIS (Courts and Law Enforcement Management Information System) law enforcement community of 105 police departments within the southeastern Michigan region. Under the contract, Cogent will convert existing records and provide a wide range of products including: Cogent Fingerprint and Palmprint Identification System (CAFIS), Real Time Identification System (LiveID), Web-based Criminal Fingerprint Record Archive, Multipurpose CAFIS workstations and Mobile Identification handheld devices (BlueCheck).
