Wireless Interoperability Pilot Projects

According to Washington Technology, Rick Murphy, deputy manager for Project Safecom said the Department of Homeland Security will issue a broad agency announcement (BAA) to help find wireless interoperability solutions. He also said that the BAA would come by the end of March and pilot projects would be funded by the end of 2004. Project Safecom is the division of DHS that address's the wireless communication needs of public safety organizations. The BAA will seek projects to meet the needs of the public safety communication.
