Also last month, the federal government issued a rule letting Oregon small businesses obtain tax credits to help pay for coverage without going through Cover Oregon. The exchange's small business website project is on hold indefinitely.
Insurance agents certified by Cover Oregon will be ready to help at the Portland District Office of the Small Business Administration, located at 601 SW Second Avenue, Suite 950.
There, agents can enroll people in a single sitting, rather than merely submit applications as was the case last fall. They also can check to see whether people qualify for tax credits to reduce premiums.
Small business owners should call to find out what information they need. For individuals to apply, they'll need to know or have their social security number, income, plan information for your current coverage, if any, as well as residency card or immigration documentation, if applicable.
Pre-registration is encouraged but not required.
