Answers to Key Questions About Cloud Security.
Abstract:
In the cloud services environment, how is security kept updated in terms of managing vulnerabilities or new threats?
Cloud security is kept up-to-date in much the same way as security in other contexts. The big issue with IT in general, and certainly with the cloud, is whether you are current on reference levels and patches. For example, reference builds for operating systems used for infrastructure as a service (IaaS) are kept current by having the latest patches applied and the appropriate configurations in place according to various guidelines. One of the big benefits of cloud services is that you’re pulling a current reference build into a virtual machine, which means it’s a shorter cycle. You have less latency between applying patches and rolling out an environment.
