Pete LaBelle, technology architect for Strategic Planning and Review in the Oregon Information Resources Management Department, was selected as the project manager for the implementation of the state's enterprise network. While he retains his position in Strategic Planning and Review, he will manage the enterprise network project under the direction of Phil Krug, manager of the Network Communications Section Data Services. The enterprise network envisions a common communications platform for voice, data, and video traffic. It will connect state agencies, educational communities, local governments, public libraries and the Internet via a scaleable network. The project is expected to be complete by July 1, 2001.
