The public sector is currently caught in a tough spot — on one hand, government budgets are shrinking in response to fiscal problems; on the other hand, due to hardships being endured by citizens, government is also expected to do more to help. Government agencies need to boost efficiencies, and one easy area to target is meetings. Currently, a lack of proper tools and poor and inefficient practices create a performance gap that often leads to longer hours and more meetings that take up employee time. This Center for Digital Government issue brief addresses this performance gap by introducing new collaboration solutions that allow government agencies to waste less time and costs in repeat meetings, better engage participants and improve decision-making.
